ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has said that the Benazir Income Support Program will continue and the government has allocated Rs75 billion for the scheme.



Speaking in the National Assembly on Saturday, he said that Rs1200 would be disbursed among the poor families instead of Rs1000.



He said that the federation has increased minimum salary from Rs8000 to Rs10,000 while development funds have been increased to Rs540 billion.



The minister announced to include “positive recommendation” presented by the MNAs in the budget. He also announced Rs30 billion subsidy for fertilizer. He said public sector would also have to play its due role in providing job opportunities.



He said that the government would fulfill its promises of ending circular dept within two months as it plans to pay Rs325 billion debts till May 30.
